Setting up the submission & upgrade flow

After the addon has been installed and activated, new settings will appear within the Posterno options panel.

The submission flow

The paid listings addon provides 2 options for the frontend listing submission form flow. You can select whether you want to choose a package before selecting the listing type or after. This can be configured under Settings → Posterno → Listings → Submission → Paid Listings Flow

Selecting the option "Choose package after selecting listing type" is required if you wish to create paid packages that are reserved for specific listing types.

Decrease package count when deleting listings

Each package that is created onto your site contains a specific limit of listings that can be submitted. Once the limit is reached, users will no longer be able to submit listings through that package. If you wish to decrease the counter of the package when deleting listings, you can do so by enabling the "Decrease package count on listing trash/delete" option.

You may also set a "deletion period", so that if a listing has been submitted within a certain amount of days, deleting it, will free up one slot within the package. To setup the deletion period, simply enable the above mentioned option and a new setting will appear right below it where you can set the amount of days.

Listings upgrades & renewals

You can decide whether or not your members can upgrade and renew their listings. This can be enabled in Settings → Posterno → Listings → Management → Listings can be upgraded/renew. Once enabled, a new action link within the "listings management" table of the frontend dashboard will be added.

  1. If a listing is expired and it's using a subscription a "renew subscription" link is displayed, members will be redirected to the checkout page to restart the membership and restore listings associated to subscription.
  2. If a listing is expired and it's using a package, a "renew" link is displayed, members will be presented with a list of available and purchasable packages that they can use to renew the listing.
  3. If a listing is published an "upgrade" link is displayed, members will be presented with a list of available and purchasable packages that they can use to upgrade the listing.

Update expiry date after upgrade

After a listing is upgraded, you may want to reset it's expiry date to the one provided by the selected package. To do so, enable the option "Update expiry date of listings after upgrade" under Settings → Posterno → Listings → Management.

Note: this will not work when the listing is submitted through a subscription that is tied to the listing rather than the package. When a subscription is tied to the listing, listings will only expire when the subscription expires.
