How Google Analytics tracking works

Posterno scans data from your Google Analytics account in the background and displays them into the frontend dashboard page. All scans are automatically triggered when a member visits his dashboard page. While a scan is taking place, a message will be displayed into the dashboard that notifies the user that the analytics data will be available within the next few minutes.

Posterno processes a variety of queries to the Google Analytics api in the background making sure that your server doesn't exhausts available memory. Once all queries are complete, statistics become available on the dashboard page.

All data retrieved from the Google Analytics api, is stored into a separate database table. New scans automatically occur every 7 days as long as the user visits his dashboard page.

Queries are performed for each individual user by grabbing all the urls of the listings submitted by the user.
